How does insurance work with First Stop Health?
Wondering if you need to use insurance for your First Stop Health visits? Learn more below.
You do not need your insurance information to schedule or complete a First Stop Health visit. You can schedule with any available provider in your dashboard for care without worrying about network status.
We may ask for your insurance details to help support your care. Providing your insurance information allows us to:
- Find quality, affordable specialists that are in your network
- Identify lab locations that are covered by your plan
- Help reduce delays or unexpected costs when referrals or lab orders are needed
- Check coverage of prescription medications
For care outside of First Stop Health, including labs and prescriptions, costs according to your insurance plan will apply.
You can see a provider at First Stop Health for medical questions and advice, but we will not be able to order any testing, prescriptions, or referrals.
To avoid paying out of pocket, you will need to use HMO-, Tricare-. Medicaid, or Medicare-approved providers for testing, medications, and referrals due to insurance restrictions. Please discuss recommended testing with your HMO, Tricare, or Medicaid provider to find approved options. If you’re not sure who your HMO, Tricare, or Medicaid provider is, call the phone number on your insurance card.
